So began a real-life drama played out on the road. A biker witnessed a hit-and-run fender bender and utilized his helmet camera to perform an act of civic altruism.
After seeing the accident and noticing the offender drive away, the biker chased the car down. When he caught up, he implored the driver to turn around and take responsibility for the accident. Though the driver didn’t heed the biker’s request, the motorcyclist was able to record the license plate and model of the driver’s car, and even catch the driver’s face on camera.
After checking in on the victim of the crash (who didnot appear injured in the footage), the motorcyclist mused out loud that the offender was probably staring at his phone– in other words, distracted driving. He stopped pursuing the driver because he did not want to create a dangerous situation for either himself or other drivers on the road.
Thankfully, no one was seriously injured in this auto accident. Hopefully the information gleaned by the biker will save the victim and his insurance company a lot of headache.
