Even the most casual motorcycle enthusiast is familiar with the trope of scantily clad women posing seductively with a bike. The team over at MotoCorsa created a hilarious ad campaign that replicates an earlier photo series of a female model posing with a Ducati 1199 Panigale. The redo is a careful replication of the first series, but instead features different men posing with the motorcycle in various states of undress.
As Oscar Wilde said, “being natural is simply a pose, and the most irritating pose I know.” These cheeky (but very well-composed) photos call into question the visual cues we so often take for granted by mimicking them with the crucial difference of using men (or differing body types, no less) rather than women. The photos showcase the occasionally ridiculous body language that is so common in “girl with bike” photos. And besides, why not let the guys have some of the fun?
